On Tuesday while at track practice i broke my foot while high jumping. I took off of my foot wrong while going up to go over the bar and i felt my foot roll, and i jumped off the side of my foot. I went to the trainer at Tate's volleyball game and we just iced it, and she said i most likely just pulled my paraneal tendon so i just kept walking on it. Wednesday it was hurting so bad to walk i finally just went to her and asked for crutches. Thursday my Sister Staci picked me up from school and we went to the doctors office to get x-rays. and sure enough it was broken. He said it was a clean break and everything was pretty good, and that i would have crutches for 4-6 weeks. But to go to a pediatrist just to make sure. So Friday Staci took me again to go to him. He looked at my x-rays and said that it was a TERRIBLE break. which scared me so much! he told us the break itself isn't bad, but the place it is at is the worst place to break your foot. Its called a Jones Fracture, and its harder to heal because there is almost no blood flow where its at. So i will be getting a Screw put in my foot to help move the process along faster. and i will be on crutches for about 4-5 weeks. i only have to have them for 2 weeks after i get the surgery, and then i can walk and swim. But no running, jumping etc. For a while. So i will just be working on getting my leg back for a while, so hopefully i will be ready for try-outs for next years volleyball season. But my doctor said i will defiantly not be doing ANYTHING the WHOLE SUMMER! :( But its ok. there are much worse things that could have happened. and at least I'm only a Sophomore since i will miss regionals and state for track, and all my volleyball and basketball tournaments this summer.
