scorpions, good news, and dancing

Sunday nights at our house now consist of JUST DANCE. So much fun. Yes this is Jordan, beating my brother Rob and my BILs Matt and David. Sooo funny.

The other night my sister Staci was over helping re-do a bathroom at our house when we heard Parker (her 4 yr old) screaming at the front door.. long story short he got stung 8 times on the legs by a scorpion, poor guy. Well after that happened I was like Jordan lets go look for more, so we got the black light, a jar, and some pliers, and went around getting them off the walls. ( I bet you're excited for the reception now) haha anyways, we found a few and I gave Jordan the pleasure of watching them burn in gasoline in the middle of the street. It was awesome.

Now for the good news, terrible picture, but this is Nicole on the left, and Gabby on the right. I met them while in Honduras and fell in love with their family! Such sweet people. I met Gabby and 5 minutes later I was walking with her to her sisters baptism with friends down the street WITHOUT MY FAMILY AND NO ONE TO TRANSLATE! I almost peed my pants when she grabbed my arm and said come with us, and Tate said you'll be fine and went with my parents to go pick some other people up in the truck. Good thing she had been trying to learn English because if not I wouldnt have even had the little conversations we did. It was SO much fun though. Trying to figure out what she was saying, being introduced to a whole ward and them treating me as if I was no different even though I didnt know what they were saying. I became really close to Gabby and her family, we spent time at the baptism, so a few hours and the next night we went to their house for dinner and hung out. We sang songs to American Singers that they listened to even though they didnt know what they were saying, her mom made the best Balidas that we had while there! And just had a great time laughing and getting to know them! Gabby, her little sister, and her brothers were the only ones active in the church. She had a brother who was getting ready to serve a mission and her parents left the church after one of their children died. Spending this time with them was one of the most precious things that could have happened to me. I grew so close to them. Well the other day I realized Gabby got a Facebook! Thank goodness for that, and we found out that her parents are now active, and her dad is in the bishopbric and her brother is on a mission. I wanted to cry. The night that we left I remember so well that it was raining and they were walking us out to the car under umbrellas, we all hugged and kissed like 50 times because we didnt want to go. And her dad was just crying. I wanted to tell him that he would see his little girl again one day, and that his son was doing the right thing by getting ready to go on a mission, and that his family was so blessed from the church. But I couldnt.. remember I dont speak Spanish. So I left with my family. Well I guess he figured it out on his own, because they are all doing great now. Sweetest people and some of the best news I could hear! :)

This is us at the baptism. Dad is in the blue, Mom in the Pink LOVE THEM ALL!
